La Poza
Presented as a living art gallery with seven unique figurative sculptures, La PozA is a collection of crocheted costumes that are brought to life through a devised practice of physical embodiment and image development. The resulting show is an improvised, dynamic art exhibit with a collection of living, breathing works of art!
Each costume is an amalgamation of imagery collected by the interdisciplinary Mexican-Canadian artist Blake Hobson-Dimas (CrochetMan). Comparable to a muralist developing a relationship with paint and canvas, CrochetMan and his fellow artists in La PozA will allow the colourful imagery of the crocheted costumes to work in tandem with the canvas of their bodies. In the way that each stitch of crochet is unified to represent something greater, CrochetMan’s La PozA is an attempt at creating collective existence with the audience. An undivided connection in time and place. An energy that magnifies the experience by simply being together. Their piece will highlight the intricacies that reside within one person, and the universality of interpersonal struggle.
