We create to connect.
Our unconventional theatre performances intricately weave the beautiful and the strange. Through innovative fibre arts practices and clown, we create characters in order to celebrate individuality in our community. HFoR fosters spaces for cathartic, fun experiences that encourage self-reflection.
Founded in 2021 in a suburban Surrey Backyard, HeadFullOfRocks (HFoR) has rapidly emerged as a dynamic force in the visual and performing arts, dedicated to exploring the duality of comfort and self-revelation. Our journey began with our inaugural professional visual installation for Rumble Theatre's "Symbiotic Cabaret" in 2022, setting the stage for our unique artistic approach. In 2023, we premiered our debut production, "La Poza," at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts during the Live Acts Vol. 2 Festival. Each character in our shows is fully adorned in crochet and textile art that acts as a mask, creating a visually engaging and tactile experience that provides a supportive arena for performers to navigate universal human experiences.
Our flagship show, "The Midnight Parade," enjoyed a triumphant world debut in 2024 at the rEvolver Theatre Festival in Vancouver, selling out every performance. As we continue to push creative boundaries, we are currently developing two new productions, "Just Give Me Bodies" and "We're Living in a Weirdo World," both written by our head writer and co-founder, Natalie Peters. With Hobson-Dimas's visionary design and Peters's compelling narratives, HFoR is committed to redefining the theatrical landscape and enriching the audience experience.
